The story began when I discovered my husband — who often played the “gaslighting” game (making me confused and doubt myself) — was cheating on me. But the truth was not what I imagined: the woman turned out to be his long-lost sister. I loved her and decided to leave my husband.
A few months ago, my husband started acting very strangely. He guarded his phone carefully and often lied about where he was going, making me suspicious. One day, he said he was going to a close friend’s house, even though I knew that friend was abroad. I tracked his location and saw him at a bar. When I went inside, I saw him sitting in a corner, laughing and chatting happily with a woman. My heart ached, but luckily when he looked up, he didn’t see me; he just called the waiter for another beer.
I left the bar in tears and cried all night. Around 2 a.m., he came home, apologized, gently kissed my forehead, and asked if I was hungry or needed anything. I couldn’t stand that fake sweetness after everything.
The next morning, he made me breakfast and congratulated me on our wedding anniversary. I blurted out and asked him directly about the affair. He laughed, couldn’t believe his ears, and then asked me to sit down so he could explain.
He told me about a drunken night when he revealed a painful past: he had a sister named Jill, whom their mother had left to be raised by their aunt because she couldn’t care for both children. They had lost contact for many years due to difficult circumstances. Recently, Jill found him through social media, and the night before, they met again at that bar.
I was still suspicious about why he hid this and lied about where he was going. He explained he was worried that if things didn’t go well between them, he wouldn’t want me to know right away. I still felt betrayed and made him show me the messages as proof.
He agreed to let me meet Jill, and we arranged to meet that evening. Jill was a woman with brown hair, blue eyes, and a radiant smile. She was a nurse and was planning to move closer to the family.
Since Jill moved in, we quickly became close friends. We went out, pampered ourselves, and shared everything. Gradually, I realized I loved Jill, more than just as a friend. Once, when I asked her honestly, Jill responded with a kiss. Our feelings blossomed, and we kept it a secret from my husband.
We were happy together, often close and sharing everything. But one day, my husband came home early and caught us. He was disappointed, hurt, and angry. A fight broke out, and he called me an ungrateful wife, saying that my affair with his own sister was the deepest pain he had ever felt.
The next day, he filed for divorce. Jill and I saw it as inevitable and laughed together. My life changed completely: no more lies or secrets, I lived honestly with my feelings and found happiness with the person I loved.
