My Family Drama: I Kicked My Wife’s Best Friend Out of Our House, Now My In-Laws Are “Fighting” Me!!!

GUYS PLEASE HELP ME!!! AITA for kicking out my wife’s best friend after she “joked” about naming our baby after me because she’s “always secretly loved me”??? 😡😡😡

Hello everyone in the “Modern Husbands Society” group. This is my first post, but I really need an objective perspective from other men about the crazy situation happening in my family.

My wife (27) and I (28) have been together for 5 years, married for 2. Currently my wife is 6 months pregnant with our first child, and we’ve been incredibly happy about it. Our little home has been prepared for the new member, the baby’s room is decorated, everything was perfect… until last night.

“Lena” – my wife’s best friend (26) – who has been with my wife since school days and was the maid of honor at our wedding, came over for dinner. The evening was going well, we talked about the baby coming soon, shared future plans…

Midway through dinner, after a few glasses of wine, Lena started getting “a bit much” by constantly complimenting me and telling my wife how “lucky” she is to have me. At first, I didn’t pay much attention, as she has always flirted with me in a weird “joking” way before.

But then, she said something that sent chills down my spine.

Lena looked at my wife’s belly, smiled, and said: “If you two hadn’t gotten together, I totally could have had a baby with him by now. Actually, you should name the baby after him twice. One for you… one for me.” Then she laughed loudly, as if it was just a joke.

My wife looked uncomfortable but tried to laugh it off. I couldn’t laugh at all. I told Lena directly that she had crossed a line and needed to leave right away. She tried to defend herself saying she was “just joking around,” but I firmly asked her to leave and told her she was no longer welcome in our home.

After Lena left, my wife got angry with me. She said Lena was just joking and didn’t mean anything bad. She explained that Lena is under a lot of pressure at work and in life, and doesn’t want to lose her best friend over something “misunderstood.” I made it very clear to my wife that I won’t allow anyone who sexualizes me or disrespects our relationship near my child, especially someone who clearly has some weird obsession with me.

It didn’t stop there. This morning, my wife’s entire family got involved. My in-laws, her siblings and cousins have been constantly texting and calling, saying I “overreacted” and that Lena was “obviously just joking.” They even said I lack sensitivity, don’t understand jokes, and hurt my wife’s feelings while she’s pregnant…

Guys, I don’t think it’s just a joke when someone implies they wish they had my wife’s life, had me, and had a child with me. This isn’t the first time Lena has done strange things, but it’s definitely the most inappropriate.

My wife still isn’t talking to me since last night, and her family is pressuring me to apologize to Lena. I feel completely justified in protecting my family’s boundaries, but now I’m facing an “alliance” against me.
